Watercolor Washes and Pearl Varnishes

Hello!  I have been working very hard on my watercolor washes and I am happy with how they are turning out!  Each piece has is completely unique and has its own personality.  I have also created a special pearl varnish to help seal the colors.

Take a look!

what makes me crazy is...

What makes me crazy is many things.

Mostly I can never say what I want to or what I meant to.  But Shakespeare surfaces here...

For anyone who has ever painted text before....

I have always worked a lot with my favorite lyrics and quotes.  I have done a lot of shakespeare imperfectly and for me it seems like an area where things have to be perfect and painting text is the hardest thing for me as artist because you can't fix it or undo any mistake.  Anyways for my work in progress of the day, I finished this and am so pleased with how it turned out, my d is a little chubby but it's okay, he doesn't believe in dieting.

It isn't perfect, but I'll take it!

It is nice that something worked out today, and if you want to make me cry ask me how my wire sculpture is going.

Things I'm working on Monday...

First of all, my first star piece...gave it away already!  But I made it for my sister, so I suppose this all makes sense.

First sketch for a watercolor painting but I don't have to have it done until Decemeber...let's see how evolves til then.

I had to share this one right away...

Oh my goodness, I love how this turned out.  By far my favorite Beatles piece ever...I can not get a good picture of it to save my life but I will share with you what I got.  I used an old gothic style of writing, so happy I got it straight!  And the best part of course being the lyrics...a bit more off the beaten path than my other pieces, but it reads:

"open up your eyes
dear prudence
see the sunny skies"

I don't know how I will ever part with this....

What I'm working on Wednesday...

I have been working on doing some clear pieces this past week and I LOVE how they are turning out! The only thing I am struggling with is that they are difficult to photograph, being clear, the shadows go right through them.  I put some pictures up on my main blog but I’m not 100% satisfied with how the pictures turned out. Check it out and let me know what you think, http://jesseannedesigns.blogspot.com/

I am also working on some more earrings!  I’m very satisfied with how some of these are turning out.  Pictured below are some resin studs but also so art pieces I am working on, the “Love” ones are almost a finished product!  I just have to put a my final varnish on the colored parts. I need to buy some more earring findings to finish up the rest, I also have some that are in the process of being painted.  It is very exciting for me to see how the colors process differently when working with clear materials.

Some Hair Flowers...

These pieces are fairly delicate (still very wearable) and look so realistic!  I still wonder if they are real...must be :)  I attached them to a hair pin that also has a regular pin on it so they can be worn many ways, check out my backside picture.

And also some hair pins!

Filligree Part 2...

Quick Update:  I am working on this piece now, linking the chains and adding clear beads as an embellishment!  What do you think?

Bright Bobby Pins :)

I am working on these now and I can't wait to see folks rockin' the bright colors!

A-symmetrical Necklaces...

My newest love is A-symmetrical necklaces...I am working on this one now!

"Home Tweet Home" & "Home is Where the Heart is" key chains...

At the moment I am working on a Home 'Tweet' Home design for some key chains....

as well as my "Home is Where the Heart is" pieces, which would all be one of a kind...choose your state and region, and I shall do the rest...I love where I am from and I love being reminded of it, hopefully I can create some pieces that will mean something to some other people who feel as I do about where they are from...

I can only hope!

Handmade & Hand Painted Filligree Beads...

These are handmade and hand painted..and they may be the most difficult pieces I have ever created.  I struggle with even trying to express a decent description here.  I used concentrated water colors in each piece.  The saturation is very intense, though I would say 80% of the work went into the actual craft of these beads.  They are beautiful and I have seen nothing quite like them anywhere and I love that but the work that is involved in actually crafting and processing each piece is unlike anything else I have ever done.  I love them and I believe in what I am doing, I love the idea of being so very one of a kind but I am tired now while I am writing this so here it is, sorry I am so inadequate at expressing exactly what I have created.  Forgive me!  I create because I love and I love because I create, I wish I could tell you how positive I really feel about these now!  I just wanted to share my work here with you ...!

A bird house I am painting for my momma...

Handmade Fabric Flowers & Resin Bobby Pins

Who doesn't love flowers in their hair?  These are some items I am working on at the moment...not sure exactly how to set each piece just yet.  I made one headband so far and I have got some other plans up my sleeve for the ones I am still working on...

Resin Floral Bobby Pins!!  Still working on these, not sure yet how to split them up for sales.  Should I do sets of twos? threes?  I feel inclined to put them in threes because I like a trio of interesting color combinations.  These are simple to make but still I am very proud of how carefully I have made them.  I only bought the best quality of everything to make sure these bobby pins would last and not lose their shape over time.  As always it is very important to me to use environmentally responsible materials and I am very pleased with the adhesive I eventually settled on.   I am very excited to be sharing these with you all!
